The purpose of this article is to illustrate the effects of the rapid molar intrusion appliance, a treatment alternative that does not require patient compliance, for counteracting excessive vertical dimensions in growing patients and adults. The rapid molar intrusion appliance has 2 elastic modules that are secured on the maxillary and mandibular first-molar tubes.
