Quantum and global discord in a spin-1 Heisenberg chain subject to single-ion anisotropy (uniaxial field) are studied using exact diagonalisation and the density matrix renormalisation group (DMRG). We find that these measures of quantum nonclassicality are able to detect the quantum phase transitions confining the symmetry protected Haldane phase and show critical scaling with universal exponents. Moreover, in the case of thermal states, we find that quantum discord can increase with…

Spin nonclassicality and quantum phase transition in the XY spin model

We study the behaviors of spin nonclassicality in critical systems of spin chains, with the spin nonclassicality measured by an informational quantifier based on the Wigner-Yanase skew information.

Measurement-induced disturbance and thermal entanglement in a two-qutrit spin system with a uniaxial field

We investigate in this paper measurement-induced disturbance (MID) and negativity in a two-spin-qutrit model by considering the influence of the external magnetic field, nonlinear coupling parameter,

This review brings together the Lie-al algebraic/group-representation perspective of quantum physics and the geometric–algebraic one, as well as their connections to complex quaternions, as a further development of Felix Klein’s Erlangen Program for symmetries and geometries.

This paper focuses on this method that uses unitary operations to describe measurements, reducing them to a compact form so as to minimize the number of variables needed for extremizing the classical correlation, often the most difficult part of the discord calculation.

Quantum discord and its allies: a review of recent progress

We review concepts and methods associated with quantum discord and related topics. We also describe their possible connections with other aspects of quantum information and beyond, including quantum

Genuine quantum correlations in quantum many-body systems: a review of recent progress

The aim of this work is to review the most recent developments regarding correlations in quantum many-body systems focussing on multipartite entanglement, quantum nonlocality, quantum discord, mutual information but also other non classical measures of correlations based on quantum coherence.

Measures and applications of quantum correlations

This work gives an overview of the current quest for a proper understanding and characterisation of the frontier between classical and quantum correlations (QCs) in composite states, and focuses on various approaches to define and quantify general QCs, based on different yet interlinked physical perspectives.

Computing partial traces and reduced density matrices

The number of elementary operations needed to compute the computation of partial traces for general multipartite systems is analyzed and Fortran code provided to implement it numerically is described.
