A bstractWe consider compactifications of type IIA superstring theory on mirror-folds obtained as K3 fibrations over two-tori with non-geometric monodromies involving mirror symmetries. At special points in the moduli space these are asymmetric Gepner models. The compactifications are constructed from non-geometric automorphisms that arise from the diagonal action of an automorphism of the K3 surface and of an automorphism of the mirror surface. We identify the corresponding gaugings of N…

Abstract We present a new class of dualities relating non-geometric Calabi-Yau com- pactifications of type II string theory to T-fold compactifications of the heterotic string, both preserving

We focus on 4D $$\mathcal{N}$$ = 2 string vacua described both by perturbative Heterotic theory and by Type IIA theory; a Calabi-Yau three-fold XIIA in the Type IIA language is further assumed to

### Black holes in string theory with duality twists

• Physics

We consider 5D supersymmetric black holes in string theory compactifications that partially break supersymmetry. We compactify type IIB on T 4 and then further compactify on a circle with a duality

### Prepared for submission to JHEP Gravitational couplings in N = 2 string compactifications and Mathieu Moonshine

We evaluate the low energy gravitational couplings, Fg in the heterotic E8 × E8 string theory compactified on orbifolds of K3 × T 2 by g′ which acts as a ZN automorphism on K3 together with a 1/N

Abstract We study the moduli spaces of heterotic/type II dual pairs in four dimensions with $$\mathcal{N}$$ N = 2 supersymmetry corresponding to non-geometric Calabi-Yau backgrounds on the type

Abstract We reexamine a family of models with a 3+1-dimensional de Sitter spacetime obtained in the standard tree-level low-energy limit of string theory with a non-trivial anisotropic

### On some K3 surfaces with order sixteen automorphism

• Mathematics

We consider K3 surfaces of Picard rank 14 which admit a purely nonsymplectic automorphism of order 16. The automorphism acts on the second cohomology group with integer coefficients and we compute

We study a class of non-geometric string vacua realized as completely soluble superconformal field theory (SCFT). These models are defined as `interpolating orbifolds' of K3 × S1 by the mirror

A geometric string solution has background fields in overlapping coordinate patches related by diffeomorphisms and gauge transformations, while for a non-geometric background this is generalised to

We construct a wide class of non-geometric compactifications of type II superstring theories preserving N=1 space-time supersymmetry in four dimensions, starting from Calabi-Yau compactifications at
