Non-Abelian flux tubes (strings) are well studied in N=2 supersymmetric QCD in (3+1) dimensions. In addition to translational zero modes they have also orientational moduli associated with rotations of their fluxes inside a non-Abelian group. The dynamics of the orientational moduli is described by the two dimensional CP(N-1) model living on the world sheet of the non-Abelian string. In this paper we consider a deformation of N=2 supersymmetric QCD with the U(N) gauge group and N_f=N quark…

Non-Abelian strings in N = 1 supersymmetric QCD

Non-Abelian flux tubes (strings) are well studied in N = 2 supersymmetric QCD in (3+1) dimensions. In addition to translational zero modes they have also orientational moduli associated with

Dynamics of non-Abelian strings in supersymmetric gauge theories.

This thesis is devoted to studying strong coupling phenomena (and confinement in particular) in supersymmetric gauge theories. The central object of investigation is the non-Abelian string that is

Dynamics of non-Abelian strings in the theory interpolating from N=2 to N=1 supersymmetric QCD

We study the dynamics of non-Abelian vortex strings supported in ${\mathcal N}=2$ supersymmetric QCD with the U$(N)$ gauge group and $N_f=N$ quark flavors deformed by the mass $\mu$ of the adjoint

Heterotically deformed sigma models on the world sheet of semilocal strings in supersymmetric QED

A new two dimensional $\mathcal{N}=(0,2)$ Supersymmetric Non-Linear Sigma Model describes the dynamics of internal moduli of the BPS semi-local vortex string supported in four dimensional

What becomes of semilocal non-Abelian strings in N=1 supersymmetric QCD

We study non-Abelian vortex strings in $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric QCD with the gauge group $\mathrm{U}(N)$ deformed by the mass $\ensuremath{\mu}$ of the adjoint matter. This deformation breaks

Fradkin-Shenker Continuity and "Instead-of-Confinement" Phase

In 1979 Fradkin and Shenker observed \cite{Frad} that if one considers a Yang-Mills theory fully Higgsed by virtue of scalar fields in the fundamental representation of the ${\rm SU}(N)$ gauge group

Non-Abelian flux tubes in N = 1 SQCD : Supersizing world-sheet supersymmetry

We consider non-Abelian 1/2 BPS flux tubes (strings) in a deformed N=2 supersymmetric gauge theory, with mass terms mu_{1,2} of the adjoint fields breaking N=2 down to N=1. The main feature of the

Description of the Heterotic String Solutions in U(N) SQCD

We continue the study of heterotic non-Abelian BPS-saturated flux tubes (strings). Previously, such solutions were obtained [1] in a particular U(2) gauge theory: N=2 supersymmetric QCD deformed by

Moduli space potentials for heterotic non-Abelian flux tubes: Weak deformation

We consider N=2 supersymmetric QCD with the U(N) gauge group (with no Fayet-Iliopoulos term) and N{sub f} flavors of massive quarks deformed by the mass term {mu} for the adjoint matter, W={mu}A{sup

Heterotic Flux Tubes in N=2 SQCD with N=1 Preserving Deformations

We consider non-Abelian BPS-saturated flux tubes (strings) in N=2 supersymmetric QCD deformed by superpotential terms of a special type breaking N=2 supersymmetry down to N=1. Previously it was
