Although recent advances in surgery and chemotherapy have increasingly enabled hepatectomy in patients with initially unresectable colorectal liver metastases (CRLM), not all such patients benefit from surgery. The aim of this study was to develop a nomogram to predict survival after hepatectomy for initially unresectable CRLM.
A novel prognostic nomogram for colorectal cancer liver metastasis patients with recurrence after hepatectomy
TLDR
A nomogram to predict personalized post‐recurrence survival (PRS) among colorectal cancer liver metastasis patients with post‐hepatectomy recurrence is constructed.
Preoperative chemotherapy in the colorectal cancer patients with synchronous metastases to the liver. A vote for YES
TLDR
The increasing effectiveness of chemotherapy has led to a rise in interest in preoperative neoadjuvant treatment preceding resection of colorectal metastases, in particular in patients with synchronous liver metastases.
Meta‐analysis of the association between primary tumour location and prognosis after surgical resection of colorectal liver metastases
TLDR
A systematic review and meta‐analysis was undertaken to evaluate the prognostic value of primary tumour location in colorectal liver metastasis after hepatectomy.
Long‐term outcomes of radiofrequency ablation combined with hepatectomy compared with hepatectomy alone for colorectal liver metastases
Combining radiofrequency ablation (RFA) with hepatectomy may enable treatment with curative intent for patients with colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM). However, the oncological outcomes in
Clinical Scoring Systems for Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastases
TLDR
Clinical scoring systems for colorectal liver metastases were initially devised to help determine the tipping point between survival advantage and risk of surgery for individual patients, and a combination of factors that predicted which patients could achieve long-term survival meriting the invasiveness of the procedure were identified.
Long‐term quality of life after liver transplantation for non‐resectable colorectal metastases confined to the liver
Liver transplantation for patients with non‐resectable colorectal liver metastases offers increased survival, with median overall survival of more than 5 years. The aim of this study was to compare

Far-advanced Colorectal Liver Metastases Successfully Managed With Modified ALPPS and Radiofrequency Ablation in Combination With Chemotherapy
TLDR
For patients with far-advanced but liver-only colorectal liver metastases, surgical therapy, systemic chemotherapy, and interventional treatment can be important for achieving good prognosis.
Upgraded nomograms for the prediction of complications and survival in patients with colorectal liver metastases treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by hepatic resection.
TLDR
This study is the first to establish novel predictive nomograms specifically incorporating TRG, NAC toxicity and serum GGT level for the prediction of postoperative complications, PFS and OS in CRLM patients.
Implication of primary tumor location for the indication of preoperative chemotherapy in patients with colorectal liver metastases.

Neoadjuvant chemotherapy and resection for initially irresectable colorectal liver metastases
Hepatic surgery is the treatment of choice for resectable colorectal liver metastases. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy can downstage the tumour and enable surgery in up to 38 per cent of patients whose
Surgical resection of colorectal carcinoma metastases to the liver: A prognostic scoring system to improve case selection, based on 1568 patients
TLDR
Five‐year survival rates after resection of liver metastases from colorectal carcinoma are close to 25%, and selection of patients likely to benefit from surgery remains controversial and subjective.

Cure can be achieved overall in 16% of patients with initially unresectable CLM resected after downsizing chemotherapy and rescue surgery and this oncosurgical approach has real potential for disease eradication.
Rescue Surgery for Unresectable Colorectal Liver Metastases Downstaged by Chemotherapy: A Model to Predict Long-term Survival
TLDR
Modern chemotherapy allows 12.5% of patients with unresectable CRLM to be rescued by liver surgery, with a wide use of repeat hepatectomies and extrahepatic resections, and four preoperative risk factors could select the patients most likely to benefit from this strategy.

Prolonged Survival of Initially Unresectable Hepatic Colorectal Cancer Patients Treated With Hepatic Arterial Infusion of Oxaliplatin Followed by Radical Surgery of Metastases
TLDR
HAI of oxaliplatin with systemic 5-Fluorouracil and leucovorin offers a second chance to remove initially unresectable isolated colorectal liver metastases in 24% of patients, and appears to be more efficient when performed as first-line therapy.
Resection of nonresectable liver metastases from colorectal cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
TLDR
Liver resection may be achieved in some previously unresectable patients with the help of an effective chemotherapy, and the benefit in survival seems comparable to that obtained with primary liver resection.
Outcome After Hepatectomy for Multiple (Four or More) Colorectal Metastases in the Era of Effective Chemotherapy
TLDR
Long-term survival can be achieved after resection of multiple colorectal metastases; however, because most patients will experience recurrence of disease, effective adjuvant therapy and close follow-up is necessary.
