}A nocardioform strain IFM 11456T was isolated from the aqueous humor from a patient with endophthalmitis and was characterized to its taxonomic position. IFM 11456T contained arabinose, galactose and meso-diaminopimelic acid in whole-cell hydrolysates and mycolic acids that co-migrated with those from the type strain of Nocardiaasteroides. The acyl type of muramic acid was N-glycolyl. The diagnostic polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine, diphosphatidylglycerol and two unidentified…

- BiologyInternational journal of systematic and evolutionary microbiology
- 2019
A novel actinobacterial strain was isolated from cow dung collected from Shangzhi, Heilongjiang Province, north-east PR China and characterized by using a polyphasic approach, showing high sequence similarity to Nocardia niigatensis JCM11894T and a combination of DNA-DNA hybridization results and some phenotypic characteristics demonstrated that strain NEAU-LL90T could be distinguished from its closest relative.

DNA-DNA hybridization and physiological and biochemical tests supported the genotypic and phenotypic differentiation of the novel strains from related species and suggested that gyrB gene sequencing is a more powerful tool than 16S rRNA gene sequencing for taxonomic identification within the genus Nocardia.

DNA–DNA hybridization and some phenotypic characteristics revealed that the strain differs from L. subarcticum, and results suggest that strain RI148-Li105T should be affiliated with the genus Luteimicrobium.

Determination of DNA-DNA relatedness indicated that these strains could be classified under three novel species of the genus Nocardia, but the novel organisms consistently formed a clade distinct from that of the five latter species.
