The nitrite-dependent anaerobic methane oxidation (n-damo) mediated by “Candidatus Methylomirabilis oxyfera” connects the biogeochemical carbon and nitrogen cycles in a novel way. Many environments have been reported to harbor such organism being slow-growing and oxygen-sensitive anaerobes.
