Thrombus formation and eventual intimal hyperplasia are the leading causes of small-diameter synthetic vascular graft failure. To combat these issues, we have incorporated a diazeniumdiolate-modified nitric oxide (NO)-producing peptide into a polyurethane to improve the thromboresistance of this biocompatible polymer.
