Nitric oxide (NO) has been suggested to play a role in the hypersensitive response (HR). Single- and double-label fluorescence microscopy experiments were conducted using Arabidopsis leaves infected with Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 carrying either avrB or avrRpt2.
