Tuberculosis (TB) has been a leading cause of death since time immemorial and it continues to cause immense human misery even today. As per the currently available Global Tuberculosis Control Report 2012 of the World Health Organization (WHO)1 in the year 2011, there were 8.7 million incident cases of TB and 1.4 million deaths.
