New bee species from northern Queensland, Australia (Hymenoptera: Colletidae, Halictidae, Megachilidae)

Five new species of bees are described from the Quinkan region of Cape York Peninsula, Queensland, Australia; a sixth species, Chrysocolletes doreyi sp.

Twenty six new species of Leioproctus (Colletellus): Australian Neopasiphaeinae, all but one with two submarginal cells (Hymenoptera, Colletidae, Leioproctus)

Twenty six new species of Australian Leioproctus (subgenusColletellus) (Hymenoptera, Colletidae) are described and high resolution images of diagnostic characters for all type specimens are included.

A new genus Ittolemma (Heteroptera: Tingidae) gen. nov. and three included species of hirsute lace bugs from temperate woodlands of southern Australia

This work documents the first host plant records and a large range extension for I. teretis, the type species of the new genus Ittolemma, and notes on the generic placement within the Australian Tingidae fauna are provided.

Revision of Goniocolletes and seven Australian subgenera of Leioproctus (Hymenoptera: Apoidea: Colletidae), and description of new taxa.

This paper provides a revision of Goniocolletes Cockerell, and of Australian subgenera of Leioproctus Smith (Hy-menoptera: Colletidae: Paracolletini) with three submarginal cells. Seven subgenera

Revision of the Australian bee genus Trichocolletes Cockerell (Hymenoptera: Colletidae: Paracolletini)

The endemic Australian bee genus Trichocolletes is revised, including twenty-three new species, and the name Paracolletes is chosen to follow Michener’s (2007) family-level names.

Descriptions of new paracolletine bees associated with flowers of Eremophila (Hymenoptera: Colletidae).

Twelve species of Paraeolletini oligolectie on flowers of Lremophi/a (Myoporaceae) arc described as new, characterized by elongation of the proboscis, an adaptation to the constricted corolla of the flower.

Biodiversity discovery program Bush Blitz yields a new species of goblin spider, Cavisternum attenboroughi (Araneae: Oonopidae), from the Northern Territory.

This paper is part of the “Goblin Spider PBI” project, a world-wide revision of the spider family Oonopidae, one of the world’s most diverse spider families with over 1000 described species in 88 genera.

DNA barcoding of euryglossine bees and the description of new species of Euhesma Michener (Hymenoptera, Colletidae, Euryglossinae)

Using integrative taxonomy, morphological comparison to type specimens in Australian museum collections combined with phylogenetic analysis of a fragment of the mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (mtCOI) gene sequences led to the recognition of four new species of Euhesma Michener collected during intensive surveys in remote Australian conservation areas, which are described.

Diversity and conservation status of native Australian bees

Australia’s idiosyncratic bee fauna is characterised by a combination of numerous endemic taxa and by the complete absence of some families, and more than half the named taxa are in need of revision.
