Abstract. Angelfishes, one of the most characteristic elements in shallow tropical reefs, are known for the very high incidence of hybridization among sister species. In the western Atlantic Ocean, the hybrid of the Blue and Queen angelfishes, Holacanthus bermudensis X H. ciliaris (called the Townsend angelfish, or “H. townsendi”) has been described as a resident of the Gulf of Mexico, Florida, Bahamas and Bermuda, where the parental taxa coexist. In this paper we report the presence of a…
Causes and possible consequences of hybridisation in angelfishes at Christmas Island
TLDR
This thesis aims to provide a history of natural hybridisation in angelfishes of the world and some of the mechanisms that led to this process are described.

A review of hybridization in marine angelfishes (Perciformes: Pomacanthidae)
TLDR
Evidence is presented which strongly suggests that the nominal species Apolemichthys armitagei is invalid and that specimens previously identified as this species represent hybrids between A. trimaculatus and A. xanthurus.
Phylogenetic relationships of the Pomacanthidae (Pisces: Teleostei) inferred from allozyme variation
TLDR
Phylogenetic relationships of 31 pomacanthid species representing all genera were investigated by horizontal starch gel electrophoresis and the genera Pomacanthus and Holacanthus are more closely related than currently thought.
Preliminary survey and diet analysis of juvenile fishes of an estuarine creek on Andros Island, Bahamas
TLDR
The purpose of the study was to identify fish species utilizing five major habitat types of an estuarine creek on Andros Island, Bahamas, and provide a preliminary diet analysis of common juvenile fishes.

Degree of Fragmentation Affects Fish Assemblage Structure in Andros Island (Bahamas) Estuaries
TLDR
Fish assemblages were especially variable among partially fragmented estuaries, suggesting hydrologic connectivity through culverts may not be sufficient to maintain habitat quality, recruitment dynamics, or upstream movements by vagile organisms.
