comprises six valid species: S. cervinus (Laurenti, 1768), S. compressus (Daudin, 1803), S. leucocephalus (Gunter, 1863), S. longicaudatus (Andersson, 1901), S. pulcher (Raddi, 1820) and S. worontzowi (Prado, 1940), distributed through South and Central America (Bailey, 1970; Cunha and Nascimento, 1978; Lancini, 1986; Nascimento, Avila-Pires and Cunha, 1985). Predation on the lizard Iguana iguana (Sauria: Iguanidae) by the snake Siphlophis compressus (Serpentes: Dipsadidae), at Rondônia state, Brazil.
TLDR
Despite its wide distribution, S. compressus may be locally threatened by deforestation and even so, the species is considered as Least Concern at International Union for Conservation of Nature (Embert et al., 2012).
Diversity, natural history, and geographic distribution of snakes in the Caatinga, Northeastern Brazil.
TLDR
The Caatinga snake assemblage shows high richness and endemism levels, and the results highlight the usefulness of basic natural history data and revision of voucher specimens as baseline information for biogeographic studies and conservation strategies.
Geographic distribution of the genus Siphlophis Fitzinger, 1843 (Colubridae, Dipsadinae, Serpentes) in Colombia
TLDR
Based on analysis of specimens deposited in zoological museums and data from literature, the information about the geographic distribution of SiphLophis cervinus and Siphlophis compressus in Colombia is updated.
The Evolution of Diet and Microhabitat use in Pseudoboine Snakes
TLDR
The results indicate that an increase in arboreality evolved several times during the diversification of the tribe Pseudoboini, and that the Siphlophis clade seems to have maintained the high degree of arBoreality from its ancestor.
Natural History of Pseudoboine Snakes
TLDR
Although the tribe Pseudoboini appears to be well studied, for 15 species only a small amount of information or none was available and it is hoped that this study can motivate research on the least known species.
First record of Siphlophis compressus (Daudin, 1803) (Serpentes, Dipsadidae) from the state of Roraima, Brazil
TLDR
The first record of Siphlophis compressus from the state of Roraima, Brazil is presented and this report extends this species’ distribution in Brazil by 789 km to the northwest of the nearest previous locality recorded.
Composition and natural history notes of the coastal snake assemblage from Northern Bahia, Brazil
TLDR
All known species of snakes from the northeastern coast of Bahia are reported for the first time, and the number of detected species is similar to numbers obtained in comparable studies from other Brazilian ecoregions.
Diversity of bryophytes in priority areas for conservation in the Atlantic forest of northeast Brazil
The northeastern Brazilian Atlantic forest is the region with the greatest diversity of bryophytes in the country. However, knowledge about bryophytes is irregularly distributed among Brazilian

TLDR
The data obtained allowed a first approximation of the richness and composition of the snake fauna from Serra do Mendanha, including the records obtained during fieldwork in the present study and those of specimens deposited in Institutional Collections and detailed field data for each voucher specimen.
A CHECKLIST OF SNAKES FROM AMAZONIAN SAVANNAS IN BRAZIL, HOUSED IN THE COLEÇÃO HERPETOLÓGICA DA UNIVERSIDADE DE BRASÍLIA, WITH NEW DISTRIBUTION RECORDS

TLDR
The Tabuleiro was the most species-rich; however dominance was greatest in the Forest; the presence of common species in the two studied areas confers a moderate similarity to the forest andTabuleiro habitats.
Reptiles, Squamata, Parque Natural Municipal da Taquara, municipality of Duque de Caxias, state of Rio de Janeiro, Southeastern Brazil

Comparing the sampling methods of trap-nests and entomological nets, conducted simultaneously in the same area, in relation to diversity of trap nesting bees, it was observed a great similarity in terrns of composition and differences of abundance in species sampled.
Os répteis do município de São Paulo: diversidade e ecologia da fauna pretérita e atual
TLDR
The extant snake fauna recorded in the last three years indicates a higher loss of the species in open formations when compared to the forested areas, and probably many of these species are extinct in the region due the intense local urbanization and habitat loss.
