Descriptions are given of one new and five rare fish species first found on raises of the Atlantic Ocean: Mitsukurina owstoni (Vavilov Ridge), Gymnothorax cf. moringa (Vavilov Ridge), G. walvisensis Prokofiev sp. n. (Walvis Ridge), Sladenia shaefersi (Angular Rise), Hymenocephalus billsam (Rio Grande Rise), and Ebinania costaecanariae (South Atlantic Ridge, first occurrence of the species on seamounts).
