We present an exact solution of the relativistic Boltzmann equation for a system undergoing boost-invariant longitudinal and azimuthally symmetric transverse flow ("Gubser flow"). The resulting exact nonequilibrium dynamics is compared to first and second order relativistic hydrodynamic approximations for various shear viscosity to entropy density ratios. This novel solution can be used to test the validity and accuracy of different hydrodynamic approximations in conditions similar to those…

Analytical attractor and the divergence of the slow-roll expansion in relativistic hydrodynamics
We find the general analytical solution of the viscous relativistic hydrodynamic equations (in the absence of bulk viscosity and chemical potential) for a Bjorken expanding fluid with a constant
Exact solution of the (0+1)-dimensional Boltzmann equation for massive Bose-Einstein and Fermi-Dirac gases
We present the exact solution of the (0+1)-dimensional Boltzmann equation for massive Bose-Einstein and Fermi-Dirac gases. For the initial conditions used typically in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion
Kinetic equations and anisotropic hydrodynamics for quark and gluon fluids
The mixture of quark and gluon fluids is studied in a one-dimensional boost-invariant setup using the set of relativistic kinetic equations treated in the relaxation time approximation. Effects of a
Novel Relaxation Time Approximation to the Relativistic Boltzmann Equation.
TLDR
A new approximation is proposed that fixes fundamental issues and maintains the basic properties of the linearized Boltzmann collision operator and affects transport coefficients, such as the bulk viscosity and particle diffusion.
The relativistic Boltzmann equation on a spherically symmetric gravitational field
In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for the relativistic Boltzmann equation with near vacuum initial data where the distribution function depends on the time, the position and the
Introduction to Hydrodynamics
We give a pedagogical review of relativistic hydrodynamics relevant to relativistic heavy ion collisions. Topics discussed include linear response theory derivation of 2nd order viscous hydrodynamics
Resummed hydrodynamic expansion for a plasma of particles interacting with fields
A novel description of kinetic theory dynamics is proposed in terms of resummed moments that embed information of both hydrodynamic and non-hydrodynamic modes. The resulting expansion can be used to
