Electron microprobe analyses and X-ray diffraction studies have shown the identity of rasvumite from a new occurrence at Coyote Peak, Humboldt County, California, and holotype material from the Khibina massi-f, Kola Peninsula, USSR. The electron microprobe analyses have established that the correct formula is KFe2S3 instead of K3FeeS,a, as originally proposed. We compare new electron microprobe analyses of djerfisherite from the two localities and show that these djerflsherites do not contain…

Mn- and F-bearing rasvumite in natrocarbonatite at Oldoinyo Lengai volcano, Tanzania
Abstract Several K-Fe sulphide minerals have been described from natrocarbonatite lavas erupted from the Tanzanian volcano Oldoinyo Lengai but uncertainty remains about their exact identity. They do
Erdite, a new hydrated sodium iron sulfide mineral
The new mineral erdite, NaFeS 2' 2}J2O, has been found in abundance in a maflc, alkalic diatreme at Coyote Peak, Humboldt County, California. Crystallization of erdite, the first sodium-bearing
Nickel–bearing Djerfisherite in Gehlenite‐Spurrite Skarn at Kushiro, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan
Abstract: Djerfisherite occurs intimately intergrown with troilite and pentlandite in gehlenite‐spurrite skarn at Kushiro, mainly as inclusions in gehlenite and andradite grains. The mode of
Petrology and Geochemistry of Oldoinyo Lengai Lavas Extruded in November 1988: Magma Source, Ascent and Crystallization
Lavas erupted from Oldoinyo Lengai in November, 1988, carry phenocrysts of the alkali carbonates nyerereite and gregoryite, with inclusions of apatite. They are set in a matrix of microphenocrysts of
Geochemistry of the Île Cadieux monticellite alnöite, Quebec, Canada
The Ile Cadieux alnoite, a small Cretaceous intrusion, is a member of the Monteregian Hills Petrographic Province. Mineral chemistry was determined for olivine, spinel, clinopyroxene, melilite, and a
Bartonite, a new potassium iron sulfide mineral
The new mineral bartonite has been found in a mafic, alkalic diatreme at Coyote Peak, Humboldt County, California. Associated v/ith it are the two previously known potassium iron sulfide minsmls,
Sulfide Mineralization in the Carbonatites and Phoscorites of the Guli Massif, Polar Siberia, and Their Noble-Metal Potential
We report the first combined investigation (neutron activation, X-ray fluorescence, and electron microprobe analysis) of mineral forms of Au and Ag and noble metal distribution in the sulfide-bearing
Occurrence and origin of djerfisherite from the Elwin Bay Kimberlite, Somerset Island, Northwest Territories
This paper focuses on a new occurrence of djerfisherite [approximately K 6 (Na,Li)(Fe,Ni,Cu) 24 S 26 Cl] from the Elwin Bay kimberlite on Somerset Island. The small (up to 10 mu m), subhedral grains

Abstract Moskvinite-(Y), Na2K(Y,REE)Si6O15, is a rare mineral, which until now has only been described from its type locality Dara-i-Pioz, Tajikistan. At Ilímaussaq moskvinite-(Y) was discovered in a
Djerfisherite in the Udachnaya-East pipe kimberlites (Sakha-Yakutia, Russia): Paragenesis, composition and origin
Djerfisherite, an unusual potassium- and chlorine-bearing sulphide K6Na(Fe,Ni,Cu)(24)S26Cl, is found in remarkably fresh rocks of the Udachnaya-East kimberlite pipe, including several varieties of

Djerfisherite, Alkali Copper-Iron Sulfide: A New Mineral from Enstatite Chondrites
A new mineral, essentially a potassium-copper-iron sulfide, occurs in accessory amounts in the enstatite chondrites Kota Kota (a find) and St. Marks (a fall), and has been identified visually in the
Electrochemical formation and chemical characterization of a Djerfisherite-like compound. [KâLiFeââSââCl formed in positive electrode reactions of Li--Al/LiCl--KCl/FeS cells]
An unusual compound with the formula K/sub 6/LiFe/sub 24/S/sub 26/Cl has been identified as an intermediate product in the positive electrode reactions of Li-Al/LiCl-KCl/FeS cells. Characterization
