•Polynoid polychaetes collected by the Mariana Back-Arc Basin Expedition in the western Central Pacific in 1987 are described. They include four new species belonging to three subfamilies and four genera of Polynoidae: Macellicephalinae: Levensteiniella raisae; Lepidonotopodiinae: Lepidonotopodium minutum; and Branchinotogluminae: Branchinotogluma burkensis and Opisthotrochopodus marianus. Included also is a brief summary of the subfamilies, genera, and species associated with deep-sea…

Sexually Dimorphic Scale Worms (Annelida: Polynoidae) From Hydrothermal Vents in the Okinawa Trough: Two New Species and Two New Sex Morphs

Sequencing of the cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene in these four species confirmed the sexual dimorphism in vent polynoids for the first time, and provided reliable barcoding sequences for identifying these polychaetes.

Levensteiniella manusensis sp. nov., a new polychaete species (Annelida: Polynoidae) from deep-sea hydrothermal vents in the Manus Back-Arc Basin, Western Pacific.

A new species belonging to the subfamily Macellicephalinae (Annelida: Polynoidae), Levensteiniella manusensis sp. nov., is described based on material collected from deep-sea hydrothermal vents in

New genera and species from the Equatorial Pacific provide phylogenetic insights into deep-sea Polynoidae (Annelida)

This study describes new species of deep-sea polynoids using morphology and molecular data and evaluates the monophyly of Macellicephalinae, highlighting the high diversity hidden in the deep.

Reevaluation of the Systematic Status of Branchinotogluma (Annelida, Polynoidae), with the Establishment of Two New Species

Both the morphology and molecular phylogenetic analyses support the validity of the two new species and the sister relationships between B. nanhaiensis and B. robusta sp.

A new species of Hesiocaeca (Polychaeta: Hesionidae) from hydrothermal vents at the Mariana back-arc basin with notes on other polychaetes

Results indicate that the isolation of the Mariana back-arc basin has been sufficient for polychaetes to evolve at the species level, but not at the generic level, as well as indicating the new species is most closely related to North Atlantic congeners rather than species from the eastern Pacific.

A new species of scale-worm (Polychaeta: Polynoidae), Lepidonotopodium jouinae sp. nov., from the Azores Triple Junction on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge

A new species of scale-worm, Lepidonotopodium jouinae, belonging to the sub-family Lepidonotopodinae (Polychaeta: Polynoidae) has been found in samples collected on deep-sea hydrothermal vent fields

A new species and new record of deep-sea scale-worms (Polynoidae: Polychaeta) from the Okinawa Trough and the South China Sea.

A new species of scale-worm, Lepidonotopodium okinawae sp. nov. from the Okinawa Trough is described. The new species differs from the other species of Lepidonotopodium by having 24 segments and
