Late Pleistocene vertebrates from LaPorte Co., Indiana, are identified and discussed. Genera from the site include the fishes, Lepisosteus, Esox, Ictalurus, Lepomis, Micropterus, Stizostedion; a turtle, Chrysemys, and a bird, Gavia. The fossils occur in beds more than 5500 but less than 6300 years old. Geological and ecological evidence suggests that the fossils were deposited in a shallow lake or pond with a muddy bottom and weedy vegetation.
