MANY scholars have contributed to our knowledge of the period of music history from about 1160 to 1220, but several important dates concerning the Parisian organa and the personalities involved still need clarification. Indeed, it is hardly possible to reconstruct he sequence of events from the few dates hitherto known in this connection. New data will be presented here which will permit us to make some deductions serving to establish on a firmer basis the dates of Perotin, the greatest master…
