We use data mining techniques for finding 82 previously unreported common proper motion pairs from the PPM-Extended catalogue. Special-purpose software automating the different phases of the process has been developed. The software simplifies the detection of the new pairs by integrating a set of basic operations over catalogues. The operations can be combined by the user in scripts representing different filtering criteria. This procedure facilitates testing the software and employing the same…
Journal of Double Star Observations V5, No4
Introduction Brian Skiff made me aware of the Janes 2016 report with 93 objects found as wide binaries in the field of the Kepler mission using proper motion data from different catalogs (USNO-B,
Journal of Double Star Observations V5, No4
The release of Gaia DR2 has led to the availability of up to seven million objects with six astrometric parameters from an homogeneous source with which a star’s Galactic position can be very tightly
Journal of Double Star Observations V5, No4
We obtained and analyzed CCD images of the double star system WDS 11582 +0335 (HJ 1204) using the iTelescope network and a variety of specialized software. WCS coordinates were attached to each
Spectroscopy of nearby white dwarfs & identification of double white dwarfs in common proper motion pairs
The TFG relies on the spectroscopical analysis of nearby white dwarf stars and the data analysis of the GAIA-DR2 (data release 2).

Finding New Common Proper-Motion Binaries by Data Mining
This paper presents new common proper-motion binaries detected by applying well-known statistical criteria over large subsets of the astrometric catalogs available on- line. All the pairs have been
New Northern Hemisphere Common Proper- Motion Pairs from the UCAC-3 Catalog
This paper presents 310 new common proper-motion pairs obtained by data min- ing the recently released UCAC-3 in positive declinations. The pairs were selected by using statistical criteria and have
The Washington Double Star Catalog (WDS, 1996.0)
A major revision of the Washington Double Star (WDS) catalog containing data for the com- ponents of 78 100 systems is now available from the data centers and via the World Wide Web
New Northern hemisphere common proper-motion pairs
A list of 705 new Northern celestial hemisphere common proper-motion pairs as derived from the Second US Naval Observatory CCD Astrograph Catalog is presented, along with details of their separation,
The Tycho-2 Catalogue contains positions, proper motions, and BT and VT magnitudes for approximately 2.5 million stars. We have obtained spectral types for 351,864 of the Tycho-2 stars by
PPM-Extended (PPMX) – a catalogue of positions and proper motions
Aims. We build a catalogue PPM-Extended (PPMX) on the ICRS system which is complete down to a well-defined limiting magnitude and contains the best presently available proper motions suited for
We complete construction of a catalog containing improved astrometry and new optical/infrared photometry for the vast majority of NLTT stars lying in the overlap of regions covered by POSS I and by
The ALADIN interactive sky atlas - A reference tool for identification of astronomical sources
The Aladin interactive sky atlas, developed at CDS, is a service providing simultaneous access to digitized images of the sky, astronomical catalogues, and databases. The driving motivation is to
Common proper motion stars in the AGK 3
On presente les systemes a mouvement propre commun en deux tables. I: systemes avec ρ/μ<10 3 ans, ou p est la separation angulaire et μ le mouvement propre. II: σ/μ compris entre 1000 et 3500 ans
Fundamental parameters of nearby stars from the comparison with evolutionary calculations: masses, radii and effective temperatures ?
The Hipparcos mission has made it possible to con- strain the positions of nearby field stars in the colour-magnitude diagram with very high accuracy. These positions can be com- pared with the
