Seven new species were reared from pods and seeds of Indigofera from Kenya, Tanzania, Ivory Coast and Senegal. Host plant data are provided: adults of Bruchidius astragalinae were reared in Senegal from seeds of Indigofera astragalina, B. fuligineus in Kenya from seeds of I. emarginella, B. kidevuensis in Tanzania from I. basiflora seeds, B. lubaicus in Ivory Coast from I. polysphaera and I. pulchra seeds, B. malindiensis in Kenya from I. schimperi seeds, B. sokokensis in Kenya from I…

On some poorly known species of South African seed beetles (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Bruchinae)

The types of five South African species are redescribed, and their male genitalia figured, and B. innocuus appears as a close relative of certain Conicobruchus species.

Use of legunwseeds by brrrchid andazth-ibid beetles (Coleoptera) in a mosaic forest-saturia zone (Lamto : Ivory Coast) and analysis of secondary compounds found only lectins could eventually protect the seed against the family of bruchids.

Both host-plant phylogeny and chemistry have shaped the African seed-beetle radiation.
