We study an impact of asymmetric dark matter on properties of the neutron stars and their ability to reach the two solar masses limit, which allows us to present a new range of masses of dark matter particles and their fractions inside the star. Our analysis is based on the observational fact of the existence of three pulsars reaching this limit and on the theoretically predicted reduction of the neutron star maximal mass caused by the accumulation of dark matter in its interior. We also… Expand

On the change of old neutron star masses with galactocentric distance
We show that the pulsar mass depends on the environment, and that it decreases going towards the center of the Milky Way. This is due to two combined effects, the capture and accumulation ofExpand
Impact of dynamical dark energy on the neutron star equilibrium
We study the density distribution of the minimally-coupled scalar field dark energy inside a neutron star. The dark energy is considered in the hydrodynamical representation as a perfect fluid withExpand
Effects of dark matter on the nuclear and neutron star matter
We study the dark matter (DM) effects on the nuclear matter (NM) parameters characterizing the equation of states of super dense neutron-rich nucleonic matter. The observables of the NM, i.e.Expand
Delayed Detonation Thermonuclear Supernovae with an Extended Dark Matter Component
We present spherically symmetric simulations of the thermonuclear explosion of a white dwarf admixed with an extended component of fermionic dark matter, using the deflagration model with theExpand
Solution to the hyperon puzzle using dark matter
Abstract In this paper, we studied the “hyperon puzzle”, a problem that nevertheless the large number of studies is still an open problem. The solution of this issue requires one or more mechanismsExpand
Strange stars with a mirror-dark-matter core confronting with the observations of compact stars
We investigate the structure and the tidal deformability of strange stars (SSs) with a mirror-dark-matter (MDM) core for the standard MIT bag model. We find that to explain the observations of PSRExpand
Impacts of dark matter on the curvature of the neutron star
The effects of dark matter (DM) on the curvatures of the neutron star (NS) are examined by using the stiff and soft relativistic mean-field equation of states. The curvatures of the NSs areExpand

Dark halos around neutron stars and gravitational waves
We find that a class of models of MeV-GeV dark matter in which dark matter interacts strongly can be constrained by the observation of gravitational waves from neutron star mergers. Trace amounts ofExpand
Neutron stars as dark matter probes
We examine whether the accretion of dark matter onto neutron stars could ever have any visible external effects. Captured dark matter which subsequently annihilates will heat the neutron stars,Expand

Dark compact objects: An extensive overview
We study the structure of compact objects that contain non-self annihilating, self-interacting dark matter admixed with ordinary matter made of neutron star and white dwarf materials. We extend theExpand
Effects of mirror dark matter on neutron stars
Abstract If dark matter is made of mirror baryons, they presumably are present in all gravitationally bound structures. Here, we investigate some effects of mirror dark matter on neutron stars andExpand
Asteroseismology of Red Clump Stars as a Probe of the Dark Matter Content of the Galaxy Central Region
The study of dark matter (DM) captured inside stars has proved to be a viable indirect search strategy complementary to other direct searches. However, in this context, only a fraction of the richExpand
Can neutron stars constrain dark matter
Because of their strong gravitational field, neutron stars capture weakly interacting dark matter particles (WIMPs) more efficiently compared to other stars, including the white dwarfs. OnceExpand
Have neutron stars a dark matter core
