Present experimental data do not exclude fast oscillation of the neutron n to its degenerate twin from a hypothetical parallel sector, the so called mirror neutron n′. We show that this effect brings about remarkable modifications of the ultrahigh-energy cosmic ray spectrum testable by the present Pierre Auger Observatory (PAO) and Telescope Array (TA) detector, and the future JEM-EUSO experiment. In particular, the baryon non-conservation during UHECR propagation at large cosmological… Expand

Magnetic anomaly in UCN trapping: signal for neutron oscillations to parallel world?
Present experiments do not exclude that the neutron n oscillates, with an appreciable probability, into its invisible degenerate twin from a parallel world, the so-called mirror neutron n′. TheseExpand
Monte Carlo simulation for Ultra-cold neutron experiments searching neutron - mirror neutron oscillation
Neutron oscillation into mirror neutron, a sterile state exactly degenerate in mass with the neutron, could be a very rapid process, even faster than the neutron decay itself. It can be observed byExpand
On the Neutron Transition Magnetic Moment
We discuss the possibility of the transition magnetic moments (TMM) between the neutron n and its hypothetical sterile twin “mirror neutron” n′ from a parallel particle “mirror” sector. The neutronExpand
Statistical sensitivity of the nEDM apparatus at PSI to n − n′ oscillations
The neutron and its hypothetical mirror counterpart, a sterile state degenerate in mass, could spontaneously mix in a process much faster than the neutron β-decay. Two groups have performed a seriesExpand
Neutron–antineutron oscillation and baryonic majoron: low scale spontaneous baryon violation
We discuss the possibility that baryon number B is spontaneously broken at low scales, of the order of MeV or even smaller, inducing the neutron–antineutron oscillation at the experimentallyExpand
Indirect searches for dark matter with the nEDM spectrometer
The nEDM apparatus at PSI has been used to search for different dark matter signatures utilizing its high sensitivity to shifts in the neutron precession frequency and its well-controlled lowExpand
DAMA annual modulation and mirror Dark Matter
The DAMA experiment using ultra low background NaI(Tl) crystal scintillators has measured an annual modulation effect in the keV region which satisfies all the peculiarities of an effect induced byExpand
Mirror dark matter: Cosmology, galaxy structure and direct detection
A simple way to accommodate dark matter is to postulate the existence of a hidden sector. That is, a set of new particles and forces interacting with the known particles predominantly via gravity. InExpand
Neutron Majorana mass from exotic instantons
A bstractWe show how a Majorana mass for the neutron could result from non-perturbative quantum gravity effects peculiar to string theory. In particular, “exotic instantons” in un-oriented stringExpand
Comprehensive asymmetric dark matter model
Asymmetric dark matter (ADM) is motivated by the similar cosmological mass densities measured for ordinary and dark matter. We present a comprehensive theory for ADM that addresses the mass densityExpand

It is shown that the present experimental data allow a maximal n-n' oscillation in vacuum with a characteristic time tau much shorter than the neutron lifetime, in fact as small as 1 sec. Expand

TLDR
