We inspect recently updated neutrino oscillation data -- specifically coming from the Tokai to Kamioka and NuMI Off-axis $\nu_e$ Appearance experiments -- and how they are analyzed to determine whether the neutrino mass ordering is normal ($m_1 < m_2 < m_3$) or inverted ($m_3 < m_1 < m_2$). We show that, despite previous results giving a strong preference for the normal ordering, with the newest data from T2K and NOvA, this preference has all but vanished. Additionally, we highlight the…

The fate of hints: updated global analysis of three-flavor neutrino oscillations

Abstract Our herein described combined analysis of the latest neutrino oscillation data presented at the Neutrino2020 conference shows that previous hints for the neutrino mass ordering have

Earliest Resolution to the Neutrino Mass Ordering

We hereby illustrate and numerically demonstrate via a simplified proof of concept calculation tuned to the latest average neutrino global data that the combined sensitivity of JUNO with NOvA and T2K

Current and future neutrino oscillation constraints on leptonic unitarity

The unitarity of the lepton mixing matrix is a critical assumption underlying the standard neutrino-mixing paradigm. However, many models seeking to explain the as-yet-unknown origin of neutrino

Fundamental physics with the diffuse supernova background neutrinos

The Universe is awash with tens-of-MeV neutrinos of all species coming from all past core-collapse supernovae. These have never been observed, but this state of affairs will change in the near

Interpretation of the XENON1T excess in the model with decaying sterile neutrinos

The phenomenological model with three active and three sterile neutrinos is used for interpretation of the observed XENON1T excess of electronic recoil events in the 1 -- 7 keV energy region.

MiniBooNE Neutrino Oscillation Search Results and Predicted Background Events

In this short review, we discuss the 2020 MiniBooNE electron neutrino appearance oscillation results with special attention on background predictions relevant to the MiniBooNE oscillation results and

JUNO’s prospects for determining the neutrino mass ordering

The flagship measurement of the JUNO experiment is the determination of the neutrino mass ordering. Here we revisit the prospects of the JUNO experiment to make this determination by 2030, using the

How to Identify Different New Neutrino Oscillation Physics Scenarios at DUNE

: Next generation neutrino oscillation experiments are expected to measure the remaining oscillation parameters with very good precision. They will have unprecedented capabilities to search for new

Exploring the Neutrino Sector of the Minimal Left-Right Symmetric Model

We explore the neutrino sector of the minimal left-right symmetric model, with the additional charge conjugation discrete symmetry, in the tuned regime where type-I and type-II seesaw mechanisms are

Neutrino Properties and Interactions

In this chapter we present basic concepts of neutrino physics. We start with a brief introduction to the standard model electroweak sector, followed by calculations of some relevant neutrino

Search for Electron Antineutrino Appearance in a Long-Baseline Muon Antineutrino Beam.

TLDR
The hypothesis of no electron antineutrino appearance is disfavored with a significance of 2.40σ and no discrepancy between data and PMNS predictions is found, and a complementary analysis that introduces an additional free parameter which allows non-PMNS values of electron neutrino and antineurino appearance also finds no discrepancy.

Improved Upper Limit on the Neutrino Mass from a Direct Kinematic Method by KATRIN.

TLDR
An upper limit of 1.1 eV (90% confidence level) is derived on the absolute mass scale of neutrinos on the Karlsruhe Tritium Neutrino experiment KATRIN, which improves upon previous mass limits from kinematic measurements by almost a factor of 2 and provides model-independent input to cosmological studies of structure formation.

First measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters using neutrinos and antineutrinos by NOvA.

TLDR
The NOvA experiment has seen a 4.4σ signal of ν[over ¯]_{e} appearance in a 2 GeV ν(over ¯)_{μ} beam at a distance of 810 km, which is seen to favor the normal neutrino mass hierarchy.
