Neuroprotective effect of a caffeic acid derivative from Abacopteris penangiana

CADP has significant neuroprotective effects which can be attributed to inhibiting the generation of free radical and enhancing the activity of endogenous antioxidant enzymes, and it was found that CADP significantly improved the behavioral performance of d-gal-treated mice in both Morris water maze test and step-down avoidance test.

Effect of Capparis spinosa L. on cognitive impairment induced by D-galactose in mice via inhibition of oxidative stress.

Results show that C. spinosa has the potential in ameliorating cognitive deficits induced by D-galactose in mice and the antioxidant activity may partially account for the improvement of learning and memory function.
