Neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) mRNA levels and NADPH diaphorase (NADPH-d) staining were compared in the frontal cortex, visual cortex and hippocampus (dentate gyrus and CA subfields of Ammon's horn) of five Alzheimer's disease (AD) and six control brains.
