PURPOSE To develop a neural-network based autocontouring algorithm for intrafractional lung-tumor tracking using Linac-MR and evaluate its performance with phantom and in-vivo MR images. METHODS An autocontouring algorithm was developed to determine both the shape and position of a lung tumor from each intrafractional MR image. A pulse-coupled neural network was implemented in the algorithm for contrast improvement of the tumor region. Prior to treatment, to initiate the algorithm, an expert…
Improved lung tumor autocontouring algorithm for intrafractional tumor tracking using 0.5 T linac-MR
TLDR

TLDR
The results from a simulated fluoroscopy model showed accurate tracking of a low-visibility tumor with an error of approximately 1 mm, even if enhanced bone structure acted as an obstacle, and support the feasibility of robust real-time tumor contouring with fluoroscope.

TLDR
The GPU computing approach can be used to accelerate tumor tracking for automated radiation therapy for mobile lung tumors by utilizing a much faster shared memory on the GPU.
Lung tumor boundary tracking in MRI with moving mesh correspondences for adaptive radio therapy
TLDR
A semi-automated method to delineate lung tumor regions from a sequence of MRIs using a non-rigid image registration framework to propagate the boundaries of the tumor region in MRI acquired during a radiation treatment stage, given manual segmentation on frames acquired during pretreatment stage.
The impact of 2D cine MR imaging parameters on automated tumor and organ localization for MR-guided real-time adaptive radiotherapy
TLDR
A decrease in image resolution led to a modest decrease in localization accuracy, especially for the small gallbladder, but automated tumor and organ localization using 2D cine MR imaging and template-matching-based autocontouring is robust against variation of geometric imaging parameters.
