This paper presents an offline control of ball and beam system using fuzzy logic. The objective is to control ball position and beam orientation using fuzzy controllers. A Matlab/Simulink model of the proposed system has been designed using Newton's equations of motion. The fuzzy controllers were built using seven gbell membership functions. The performance of proposed controllers was compared in terms of settling time, steady state error and overshoot. The simulation results are shown with the…

Fuzzy Logic Control of a Ball on Sphere System
In this work, Sugeno method is investigated as a fuzzy controller method, so it works in a good state with optimization and adaptive techniques, which makes it very attractive in control problems, particularly for such nonlinear dynamic systems.
Application of Intelligent Controller in a Ball and Beam Control System
Abstract Ball and beam system is one of a nonlinear and unstable control system, thus providing a challenge to the control engineers and researchers. There are a number of controllers which have been

Abstract The ball and beam system is a laboratory equipment with high nonlinearity in its dynamics. The aims of this research are to model the ball and beam system considering nonlinear factors and
Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy System based Stable Direct Adaptive Control of Nonlinear Systems
A novel idea for stable direct adaptive control of nonlinear systems using Lyapunov function with fuzzy approach is proposed, which consists of an ideal control, and a sliding mode control.
Synchronization of ball and beam systems with neural compensation
This paper first uses PD control with nonlinear exact compensation for the cross-coupling synchronization, then a RBF neural network is applied to approximate the nonlinear compensator.
Robust Control of Underactuated Systems: Higher Order Integral Sliding Mode Approach
