BACKGROUND In Denmark, 4% of all infants are born after in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and 40% of these children are twins. METHODS We investigated neonatal outcome in a complete Danish IVF/ICSI birth cohort including 8602 infants born between 1995 and 2000: 3438 twins (40%) and 5164 singletons (60%).
