AIM To investigate whether neoadjuvant-intensified radiochemotherapy improved overall and disease-free survival in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer. METHODS Between January 2007 and December 2011, 80 patients with histologically confirmed rectal adenocarcinoma were enrolled.
