Adjuvant 5-fluorouracil and concurrent radiation may improve survival following complete surgical resection in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. However, the morbidity and prolonged recovery associated with pancreaticoduodenectomy frequently prevents the timely delivery of postoperative chemoradiation.
