Species delimitation in the Ponto-Caucasian Viola sieheana complex, based on evidence from allozymes, morphology, ploidy levels, and crossing experiments
- BiologyPlant Systematics and Evolution

There are 132 curculionids associated with deciduous trees in eastern Europe and western Siberia. The weevils and bark beetles make up the basis of the fauna, forming almost 80%. The fauna of oak is…
Molecular genetic evidence of a deep phylogenetic discontinuity between the asian and european races of pygmy wood mouse based on the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene variation
- BiologyMolecular Biology
- 2010
Phylogenetic analysis of mitochondrial DNA cytochrome b gene sequences of pygmy wood mouse from local populations of European Russia, West Siberia, and neighboring countries revealed two clusters of haplotypes: the Western clade, which was reliably subdivided into two sequence groups, and the Eastern clade with no significant differentiation.
Range of a Palearctic uraniid moth Eversmannia exornata (Lepidoptera: Uraniidae: Epipleminae) was split in the Holocene, as evaluated using histone H1 and COI genes with reference to the Beringian disjunction in the genus Oreta (Lepidoptera: Drepanidae)
- BiologyOrganisms Diversity & Evolution
- 2014
Large-scale climatic cycling during the Pleistocene resulted in repeated split and fusion of species ranges in high northern latitudes, and the absence of accumulated difference in both genes and polymorphism for the same synonymous substitution in the H1 gene in all three parts of the range suggests a very recent disjunction which cannot be resolved by coding gene sequences.
