Harposporium drechsleri is described as a new endoparasitic nematophagous fungus. In this species the spores are helicoid and following ingestion lodge in the oesophageal lumen where they subsequently germinate and penetrate the body cavity of the host. A two-celled accessory conidial state has also been found in this species. The fungus has been obtained in pure culture and cultural characteristics are given.
