BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of using near-infrared (NIR) Raman spectroscopy for early diagnosis and typing of intestinal and diffuse adenocarcinoma of the stomach. METHODS A dispersive-type NIR Raman system was used for tissue measurements.
