Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy has been utilized to discriminate the Korean and Chinese Angelicae gigantis Radix. Decursin, one of the major ingredients in Korean Angelicae gigantis Radix, was preliminarily identified using TLC and HPLC. Decursin was then used as a unique marker component for successful discrimination between two geographical origins.
