PURPOSE We have previously shown that the aminoglycoside antibiotic neomycin blocks the nuclear translocation of angiogenin and inhibits its angiogenic activity. However, neomycin has not been considered as a favorable drug candidate for clinical development because of its known nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity.
