Four, NAD-independent, clinical isolates of Haemophilus parainfluenzae were recovered from a genital ulcer, a purulent skin lesion, a sputum specimen and a throat swab respectively. With the exception of NAD requirement, the strains exhibited the biochemical characteristics of H. parainfluenzae biotype II.
