Forty-eight multiparous Holstein cows were blocked according to month of parturition, age, and previous milk yield and arranged in a randomized complete block design to evaluate the effect of a naturally occurring sodium sesquicarbonate on DMI, milk yield, milk composition, milk value, and systemic acid-base status.
