Naringin and its aglycone, naringenin, occur naturally in our regular diet and traditional Chinese medicines. This study aimed to detect an effective therapeutic approach for cough variant asthma (CVA) through evaluating the relaxant effect of these two bioactive herbal monomers as antitussive and antiasthmatic on rat tracheal smooth muscle. The relaxant effect was determined by measuring muscular tension with a mechanical recording system in rat tracheal rings. Cytosolic Ca2+ concentration was…
Naringenin Regulates Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Abnormal Airway Surface Liquid Secretion
TLDR
It is indicated that naringenin had regulating effects to attenuate LPS-induced abnormal ASL secretion and regulate cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR), aquaporin 1 (AQP1) and Aquaporin 5 (AqP5) expression.
Characterization, in Vitro and in Vivo Evaluation of Naringenin-Hydroxypropyl-β-Cyclodextrin Inclusion for Pulmonary Delivery
TLDR
Pulmonary delivery of naringenin-HPβCD inclusion is a promising formulation strategy, which could provide a new possibility for the clinical application of naredenin.
A pharmacology‐based comprehensive review on medicinal plants and phytoactive constituents possibly effective in the management of COVID‐19
TLDR
Collecting capable medicinal plants and bioactive components in both treat and supportive therapy of this novel viral infection is proposed to help manage the COVID‐19 pandemic.

TLDR
It is confirmed that naringenin and morin possess the potential to control asthma-related immune responses through antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, indicating potential therapeutic agents or functional foods.
IL-1β-primed mesenchymal stromal cells exert enhanced therapeutic effects to alleviate Chronic Prostatitis/Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome through systemic immunity
TLDR
In conclusion, IL-1β-primed MSCs restored systemic immunologic homeostasis to alleviate CP/CPPS by modulating systemic immunity and reveal the essential role of systematic immunity in the treatment of CP/ CPPS with MSC infusion.

Naringenin Regulates CFTR Activation and Expression in Airway Epithelial Cells
TLDR
It is demonstrated that naringenin has the ability to stimulate Cl- secretion, which is mediated by CFTR through a signaling pathway by increasing cAMP content, and can increase CFTR expression when organismCFTR expression is seriously hampered.
Antitussive effect of naringin on experimentally induced cough in Guinea pigs.
TLDR
The present results suggest that naringin is not a central antitussive drug and naring in does not exert its peripheral antitussives effect through either the sensory neuropeptides system or the modulation of ATP-sensitive K (+) channels.
Anti-inflammatory effects of naringin in chronic pulmonary neutrophilic inflammation in cigarette smoke-exposed rats.
TLDR
The data suggest that naringin is an effective anti-inflammatory compound for attenuating chronic pulmonary neutrophilic inflammation in CS-induced rats.
Protective Effect of Naringenin Against Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Injury in Normal Human Bronchial Epithelium via Suppression of MAPK Signaling
TLDR
It is demonstrated that naringenin reduces TNF-α and IL-6 secretion and mRNA expression, possibly by blocking the activation of the NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways in LPS-treated NHBE.
Ability of naringenin, a bioflavonoid, to activate M-type potassium current in motor neuron-like cells and to increase BKCa-channel activity in HEK293T cells transfected with α-hSlo subunit
TLDR
The present results demonstrate that activation of both KM and BKCa channels caused by NGEN might combine to influence neuronal activity if similar channels were functionally co-expressed in central neurons in vivo.
Calcineurin upregulates local Ca(2+) signaling through ryanodine receptor-1 in airway smooth muscle cells.
TLDR
Treatment with a specific calcineurin (CaN) autoinhibitory peptide (CAIP) to block CaN activity decreases, whereas application of nickel to activate CaN increases, Ca(2+) sparks in both the presence and absence of extracellular Ca( 2+).

TLDR
What is known about ion channels in AsM with what is believed to be their roles in ASM physiology is compared and some novel ionic mechanisms in the context of Ca(2+) handling and excitation-contraction coupling are examined.
