The reaction of Pt(2)(dba)(3) (dba = bis-dibenzylidene acetone) dispersed in room temperature 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium (BMI) hexafluorophosphate ionic liquid with molecular hydrogen (4 atm) at 75 degrees C leads to stable and isolable nanometric Pt(0) particles. The X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) of the material indicated that it is constituted of Pt(0). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis of the particles dispersed in the ionic liquid shows the formation of [Pt(0)](n…

Figures and Tables from this paper

Electroless deposition of platinum nanoparticles in room-temperature ionic liquids.
The electroless deposition of Pt nanoparticles (Pt-NPs) could be carried out by dissolving potassium tetrachloroplatinate(II) (K2[PtCl4]) in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium (EMI(+)) room-temperature
Effects of ionic liquids on the characteristics of synthesized nano Fe(0) particles.
TLDR
The results suggest that the nucleation and growth of the Fe(0) were governed by an IL-controlled reductive reaction mechanism, and the IL-capped Fe( 0) particles are better candidates for the reductive degradation.
Ligand effect on the catalytic activity of ruthenium nanoparticles in ionic liquids.
TLDR
How the ligand affects the catalytic performance (activity and selectivity) compared to a ligand-free system ofRuNPs, when RuNPs in [C(1)C(4)Im][NTf(2)] are used as catalysts for the hydrogenation of various unsaturated compounds (1,3-cyclohexadiene, limonene and styrene).
Catalytic hydrogenation of aromatic nitro compounds by functionalized ionic liquids-stabilized nickel nanoparticles in aqueous phase: The influence of anions
Two kinds of nickel nanoparticles (NPs) well-dispersed in aqueous phase have been conveniently prepared by reducing nickel(II) salt with hydrazine in the presence of amino group (−NH2) functionalized
Plasma electrochemistry in ionic liquids: deposition of copper nanoparticles.
TLDR
It was found that the copper particles produced in [Py(1,4)]Tf(2)N were larger in size compared to the particles obtained in [EMIm] Tf( 2)N (roughly 20 vs. 10 nm).
