The ultrasensitive bio-barcode amplification assay (BCA) technique was developed for the specific detection of the outer-core protein VP7 of bluetongue virus (BTV). The target antigen VP7 was first captured by gold nanoparticles (GNPs) coated with polyclonal antibodies.
