Naked active galactic nuclei
@article{Hawkins2004NakedAG, title={Naked active galactic nuclei}, author={Michael R. S. Hawkins}, journal={Astronomy and Astrophysics}, year={2004}, volume={424}, pages={519-529} }
In this paper we report the discovery of a new class of active galactic nucleus in which although the nucleus is viewed directly, no broad emission lines are present. The results are based on a survey for AGN in which a sample of about 800 quasars and emission line galaxies were monitored yearly for 25 years. Among the emission line galaxies was the expected population of Seyfert 2 galaxies with only narrow forbidden lines in emission, and no broad lines. However, from the long term monitoring…

Optical changing-look Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) are a class of sources that change type within a short time-scale of years or decades. This change is characterized by the appearance or…
Multiwavelength observations of radio-quiet quasars with weak emission lines

- 2010
This study generally supports the notion that all BL Lac objects are radio-loud, and argues that some are low-redshift analogs to weak line quasars (WLQs), and there are 71 more z < 2.2 radio-quiet BL Lac candidates already identified in the SDSS, but not considered here.
