The present study was undertaken to determine whether the neurotoxic effects of ethanol vary between undifferentiated and differentiated neurons. For this study, untreated rat pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells and PC12 cells treated for 8-10 days with nerve growth factor (NGF) were used as models of undifferentiated and differentiated neurons, respectively.
