Diseased fibrous roots of blighted citrus trees were collected from 12 locations throughout the Central Florida citrus growing area. Sixty-five isolates of Fusarium solani (Mart.) Appel & Wr. emend. Snyd. & Hans, cultured from these roots were examined for their ability to produce phytotoxic compounds. When grown as shake cultures on a mineral salts-glucose medium with NH4NO3 as the N source, all isolates produced varying quantities of cisand trans-dihydrofusarubin and fusarubin. These… Expand

The Effect of Naphthazarin on the Growth, Electrogenicity, Oxidative Stress, and Microtubule Array in Z. mays Coleoptile Cells Treated With IAA
TLDR
It was found that DHNQ at almost all concentrations studied, when added to the incubation medium inhibited endogenous growth as well as growth in the presence of IAA, and naphthazarin at all of the concentrations that were studied changed the IAA-induced transverse microtubule re orientation to an oblique reorientation. Symptomatology and histopathology of fibrous roots of rough lemon (citrus limon) infected with Fusarium solani
TLDR
Fibrous-root decay and epidermal and cortical sloughing were common on blight trees in two citrus groves with severe symptoms in October 1975, and fusarium solani was present in declining fibrous roots of diseased and healthy trees and occurrence appeared to be limited to the fibrous Roots. Expand
Naphthoquinones produced by Fusarium solani isolated from citrus
TLDR
A naphthoquinone pigments produced by F. solani isolates obtained from roots of diseased citrus trees was shown to be the precursor for six of the isolated compounds. Expand
The association of pisatin tolerance and demethylation with virulence on pea in Nectria haematococca.
TLDR
Tolerance of and/or the ability to metabolize pisatin appears to be required for high virulence on pea by N. haematococca MP VI. Expand
Effect of soil temperature on root rot of rough lemon caused by Fusarium solani
TLDR
Rough lemon seedlings were root dip-inoculated in Fries liquid cultures of two Fusarium solani isolates, one from California and one from Florida, and growth parameter significantly affected by inoculation at 27 and 33 C. Expand
