ABSTRACT NADP(H) phosphatase has not been identified in eubacteria and eukaryotes. In archaea, MJ0917 of hyperthermophilic Methanococcus jannaschii is a fusion protein comprising NAD kinase and an inositol monophosphatase homologue that exhibits high NADP(H) phosphatase activity (S.
