Chicken skeletal tropolun-C is a calcium-binding protein with a pair of helix-loop-helix motifs in each of its two domains. In the high-affinity ion binding domain, each loop is capable of binding calcium or magnesium ions whle the two binding loops of the low-affinity domain are calcium specific.
