An overview of matter-coupled ${\cal N}=2$ supergravity theories with 8 real supercharges, in 4,5 and 6 dimensions is given. The construction of the theories by superconformal methods is explained from basic principles. Special geometry is obtained and characterized. The relation between the theories in those dimensions is discussed. This leads to the concepts of very special geometry and quaternionic-Kahler manifolds, whose structures are explained.

Holographic line defects in D=4 , N=2 gauged supergravity

We construct solutions of four-dimensional $N=2$ gauged supergravity coupled to vector multiplets which are holographically dual to superconformal line defects. For the gauged STU and the

New Black Hole Solutions in N = 2 and N = 8 Gauged Supergravity

We review a special class of N=2 supergravity model that interpolates all the single-dilaton truncations of the maximal SO(8) gauged supergravity. We also provide explicit non-extremal, charged black

Covariant superspace approaches to ${\cal N}=2$ supergravity

We provide a unified description of the three covariant superspace approaches to N = 2 conformal supergravity in four dimensions: (i) conformal superspace; (ii) U(2) superspace; and (iii) SU(2)

Embedding of rank two supercharges in the superconformal algebra

We discuss an embedding of su( n) rank two antisymmetric supercharges in the su(2, 2| d n) superalgebra, where d n = n( n − 1)/2. We describe an algorithm to construct the explicit form of the

Squashing and supersymmetry enhancement in three dimensions

We consider mass-deformed theories with \mathcal{N}\geq2𝒩≥2 supersymmetry on round and squashed three-spheres. By embedding the supersymmetric backgrounds in extended supergravity we show that at

The $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 prepotential and the sphere free energy

Abstract We study the mass-deformed sphere free energy of three-dimensional $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 2 superconformal field theories with holographic duals. Building on previous observations, we

Factorization of log-corrections in AdS4/CFT3 from supergravity localization

We use the Atiyah-Singer index theorem to derive the general form of the one-loop corrections to observables in asymptotically anti-de Sitter (AdS4) supersymmetric backgrounds of abelian gauged

Flavor deformations and supersymmetry enhancement in $4d$ $\mathcal{N}=2$ theories

We study \mathcal{N}=2𝒩=2 theories on four-dimensional manifolds that admit a Killing vector vv with isolated fixed points. It is possible to deform these theories by coupling position-dependent

Exact holographic RG flows in extended SUGRA

We present a family of exact planar hairy neutral black hole solutions in extended supergravity with Fayet-Iliopoulos (FI) terms. We consider a model where the magnetic part of FI sector vanishes and

Conformal field theories on deformed spheres, anomalies, and supersymmetry

We study the free energy of four-dimensional CFTs on deformed spheres. For generic nonsupersymmetric CFTs only the coefficient of the logarithmic divergence in the free energy is physical, which is

N = 2 supergravity in five dimensions revisited

We construct matter-coupled N = 2 supergravity in five dimensions, using the superconformal approach. For the matter sector we take an arbitrary number of vector, tensor and hypermultiplets. By

$N=2$ Supergravity in Superspace: Different Versions and Matter Couplings

This paper concludes the formulation of N=2 supergravity in harmonic superspace. The authors generalize the approach to include conformal supergravity. The superconformal group is then compensated by
