A new species ofMyosotis ser.PalustresPopov,Myosotis michaelae, related to theM. nemorosa group, is described from France. Further localities from Switzerland, Romania and Bulgaria are listed. Diploid chromosome number (2n=22) is given for the new species, and notes on its distribution, ecology and taxonomic relationships are presented. The lectotype is chosen and designated for the nameMyosotis palustris L. var.scabraSimonk.
