The present study was carried out to isolate fungi associated with seeds of seven cultivars of sunflower by using agar and blotter paper methods. A total of 13 phytopathogenic fungal species including Alternaria alternata and A. helianthi, Aspergillus flavus, A. fumigatus and A. niger, Curvularia lunata, Drechslera tetramera, Fusarium solani and F. moniliforme, Macrophomina phaseolina, Mucor mucedo, Penicillium and Rhizopus spp. were identified. The isolated fungi were found to reduce seed… Expand

DETECTION AND IN-VITRO MANAGEMENT OF SEED BORNE MYCOFLORA ASSOCIATED WITH SUNFLOWER AND ZINNIA
TLDR
A comparative study was designed to evaluate three fungicides to control seed mycoflora and maximum germination percentage was attained in case of seed dressing with Topsin M-70 followed by Bayton and Dithane M-45 at the rate of 3.0g/kg. Expand
Mycoflora associated with stored seeds of soybean
TLDR
The isolation frequencies of the fungi were variable among cultivars as well as between naturally infested and artificially disinfested seeds, and common fungal genera isolated during this study included Absidia, Aspergillus, Mucor, Curvularia, Drechslera, Fusarium, Phoma, Rhizopus and Penicillium. Expand

Seed-Borne Fungi of Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) and their Impact on Oil Quality
TLDR
Ten seed-borne fungi were isolated from abnormal sunflower seeds collected from different locations in Egypt i.e. Aspergillus flavus, A. niger, Alternaria alternata, Curvularia lunata, Fusarium moniliforme, F. semitectum, Penicillum digitatum, Stemphylium sp. Expand
