The objective of this study was to analyze the association between ELISA seroreactivity and Mycobacterium paratuberculosis DNA presence in bovine milk as detected by nested PCR. An irregular pattern of detection was observed for milk PCR outcomes along with fluctuations in serial ELISA results. Cows testing positive by milk PCR had negative and inconclusive ELISA results in 23.5% and 11.8% of the cases, respectively.
